Catalysts Developed |
Süd-Chemie Indias R&D
division and the manufacturing units work hand-in-hand with various National
Laboratories and Universities. We have
successfully commercialised certain products developed by National Chemical
Laboratories (NCL). We work in close association with Indian Institute of
Chemical Technologies(IICT).We have
entered into a memorandum of understanding with Indian Institute of Petroleum
(IIP)for development of certain new and import substitution catalysts. We are also working jointly with CSIR
laboratory, NCL, IICT and IIP for the development of some catalysts for
refining and petrochemical applications. We also work in association with Cochin University of Science &
Technology on Catalyst Research. |

Here are some important
applications for which we have developed catalysts.
High Pressure Ammonia cracking for applications in Heavy Water Plant
Naphtha Reforming
Ethanol Dehydrogenation to Acetone
Demercurisation
Anol Dehydrogenation
Dehydrogenisation of Ethyl Benzene
Benzene Hydrogenation
Guard bed catalysts for refineries
Defluridation
Deep De sulphurisation
Zeolite based catalysts for various applications
Perfecting Emission
Control Catalyst technology for Indian conditions.
Besides the following catalysts developed by us are awaiting commercialisation

| Research & Development Division |
Süd-Chemie India started its R&D activities along with
the commencement of manufacturing operations in 1970. Because we know that catalyst technology
is highly research oriented and we have to keep pace with the developments world-wide. During these years we were not confined to improvements in conventional catalysts
alone but in concentrating on development of new catalysts as well. Today we have to our credit, the honour of developing more than 20 catalysts, all of which are performing successfully in India and abroad. The latest from our stable is Ultra Deep Hydro Desulphurisation catalysts for treating Diesel which can reduce Sulphur to less than 50ppm from 2500ppm.
A number of catalysts developed are import substitution ones.
R&D Division is supported by a well equipped Pilot Plant. From lab scale to Commercial Scale is achieved here. After perfecting technology for commercial production it is passed on to the manufacturing units.
This unit got DSIR recognition in 1974. |
