Sulfur Recovery Units
TAIL GAS TREATING UNIT (TGTU)
HDMax® 213, 214 and 230 are robust, stabilized alumina extrusions which are impregnated with active metals such as cobalt oxide and molybdenum oxide.
The tail gas treating unit catalyst reduces sulfur vapour, SO2, COS and CS2 contained in the tail gas from the Claus process to H2S using the “Low Temperature” HDMax 230 catalyst. The catalyst performance has demonstrated the following features and related benefits:
- Doped Promoter: Proprietary promoter for enhanced low temperature activity.
- Low Temperature Activity: Activity as low as inlet temperature of 210 ºC.
- Active Metals: Green Chemistry approach with optimum metals loading but high dispersion.
- Carrier: Stabilized carrier to resist hydro-thermal aging and extend life.
- Thermal Stability: Accelerated aging tests to check resistance to sintering at temperatures above normal operating temperatures.
- Shape: Custom triaxial shape called CDS structure for maximizing geometric surface area and lower pressure drop.
